17:1. பெலிஸ்தர் யுத்தம் பண்ணுகிறதற்குத் தங்கள் சேனைகளைச் சேர்த்து, யூதாவிலுள்ள சோக்கோவிலே ஒருமித்துக் கூடி, சோக்கோவுக்கும் அசெக்காவுக்கும் நடுவே இருக்கிற எபேஸ்தம்மீமிலே பாளயமிறங்கினார்கள்.

17:1. பெலிஸ்தர் போரிடும் பொருட்டு படையாட்களைக் கூட்டினார்கள். அவர்கள் யூதாவிலுள்ள சோக்கோவில் கூடினார்கள். அவர்கள் கூடிய எபேஸ்தம்மீம் எனும் இடம் சோக்கோவுக்கும் அசெக்காவுக்கும் இடையில் இருந்தது.
